Place Vendôme is an upcoming multibillion Qatari Riyal mixed-use development underway in Qatar's emerging Lusail City. Place Vendôme is a project of United Developers, a group of four Qatari investors who partnered to align their expertise in retail, real estate, construction and contracting. United Developers envision Place Vendôme as a groundbreaking example of the entrepreneurship, vision and energy of Qatari commitment to the nation's development.
The project broke ground on March 17, 2014 and is slated for opening in 2018. The 1,000,000m2 development will host two five-star luxury hotels, serviced apartments, a mall featuring up to 500 different retail outlets with an exclusively luxurious wing dedicated to top designer labels, and a central entertainment component showcasing constant attractions. The two five-star luxury hotels and serviced apartments' complex will be operated by Le Meridien Lusail and the Luxury Collection Hotel. The Starwood Hotels are set to deliver a luxurious and authentic experience that aligns with the Place Vendôme brand.
The Parisian-inspired development will be reminiscent of the famous high-end shopping street in Paris, Rue de la Paix, of which Place Vendôme is the starting point. The architecture is intended to radiate luxury and extravagance while conveying a touch of cultural and artistic feel, setting the tone for the entire shopping experience. Place Vendôme will also feature a canal running through it directly from the sea, making for a gorgeous open plaza experience with cafes and restaurants overlooking the water.
Strategically placed at the heart of Lusail, Place Vendôme aims to become the new center of attraction for regional and international residents and visitors seeking a combination of varied entertainment and retail choices in one place. Rising in parallel with the insfrastructure in Lusail City, it will be served by new roads, public transportation, parks and marinas by the date of completion.
Place Vendôme adheres to and supports the pillars of Qatar National Vision 2030. The project reflects United Developers' commitment to Qatar's economic diversification as well as human and social development through the opportunities and jobs that the project will create during construction and upon completion.
